A growing number of organisations offer overseas holidays in the company of fellow-believers. Programmes may have a cultural emphasis and include joint activities with local Christians, or focus on action sports such as ski-ing, sailing or mountaineering. The even more intrepid can take part in safari-style expeditions and exploration. Some programmes offer avenues of Christian service with local churches and institutions. Most are likely to include an element of Bible teaching; all are ideal settings in which to make new friends.
