rekonnect camps are for children and young people who have returned to the UK on a permanent basis within the last two years.  Every year we run two camps at rekonnect. One for kids, and one for teens. Both camps are run during the same week at different centres within the beautiful Peak District.

Kids Camp (6-12yrs): Monday 29^th July – Friday 2nd August 2024

Kids who have lived all round the world come together in the beautiful Peak District. There is lots of fun, games and laughter. We walk in the countryside, build dens in the woods and follow treasure trails. There is a campfire and a BBQ, football in the large garden, and lots of crafts and games indoors and out.

But we also take time to think about what it is like to say goodbye, to move countries and schools. Kids get an opportunity to reconnect with the UK and with others who ‘get it,’ people who understand the joys and challenges of being a Third Culture Kid (TCK). 

rekonnect Teens (13-18yrs): Monday 29^th July – Friday 2nd August 2024

Much of the week is spent outdoors enjoying the beautiful surroundings – either playing games, going for walks or playing in the local river.  The highlight of the week for most is making new friendships with other Teen TCK’s who are also returning to live in the UK. Throughout the week, there are also talks from the leaders which focus on how to ‘rekonnect’ with a culture which may feel unfamiliar.

rekonnect is a chance to reconnect with yourself, the UK and with God, while having a lot of fun and laughter along the way.
